It’s officially the off season for outdoor shade, but that doesn’t mean things slow down here. In fact, this is the time of year when the real work happens.
While many people see winter as a pause, we see it as an opportunity. Our team has been hard at work refining, testing, and building what comes next. Every off season gives us the space to step back, challenge assumptions, and push our products further than the year before. This cycle of improvement is what keeps Alize moving forward.
One product that has genuinely exceeded our expectations is our cantilever umbrella. From early prototypes to final production, it has continued to surprise us in the best way. The balance, the coverage, and the overall feel of the system have all come together better than we originally planned. It’s one of those rare cases where the finished product is stronger than the initial vision.
What really sets this cantilever apart is how complete the system is. Integrated lighting transforms it from a daytime shade solution into something that works just as well in the evening. It changes how people use outdoor spaces, extending them well beyond daylight hours. In practice, that makes it a true game changer for hospitality, commercial projects, and anyone who wants their outdoor areas to work harder.
Alongside the cantilever, we’ve also been developing our next round of advanced shade solutions, including new umbrella base options that run on battery power. These bases eliminate the need for hard wiring and open up far more flexibility in placement and installation. It’s a small change on the surface, but it solves real problems that designers and operators deal with every day.
All of this work is leading us into HAWA Expo Vietnam this March. We’re excited to finally take these ideas out of the workshop and put them in front of people. Live demonstrations are where everything clicks, and we’re looking forward to showing what we’ve been building during the quieter months.
The off season may look calm from the outside, but behind the scenes it’s anything but. We’ll see you in Vietnam with shade solutions that are smarter, more flexible, and ready for what’s next.
